OCS – THE £3.2 billion integrated facilities management company employing upwards of 135,000 colleagues worldwide – has completed the acquisition of City Group Security, itself an established nationwide security operation founded in 1993 and ranked among the Top 30 security-focused businesses in the UK.
The acquisition strengthens OCS’ UK security capability due to the fact that City Group Security brings 600 new colleagues into OCS and increases operational density across London and the South East region, duly complementing OCS’ existing nationwide security footprint.
City Group Security delivers static security guarding services, canine security, mobile patrols, key holding and alarm response solution. Its self-delivered canine security operation is a particular addition for OCS, bringing specialist expertise in-house and supporting future growth of the service for customers.
Importantly, City Group Security’s experience extends across logistics, local Government, the education sector and the utilities domain. Indeed, the utilities footprint increases OCS’ strength in the sector, supporting customers in critical environments where the demand for site protection, resilience and operational reliability is always paramount.
Strong reputation
Daniel Dickson, CEO at OCS for the UK and Ireland, commented: “City Group Security has built a strong reputation in the security market over more than three decades, supported by experienced colleagues and long-standing customer relationships. Bringing the business into OCS strengthens our security capability and complements the wider integrated facilities management offer we deliver for customers nationwide.”
Steven Moore, managing director for UK security at OCS, observed: “City Group Security adds scale and density to our security business, particularly so across London and the South East, and brings specialist capability that we know customers value very highly. The self-delivered canine security operation is a meaningful addition for OCS, allowing us to grow that service under one team. Greater experience across logistics, local Government, education and the utilities strengthens our ability to support customers operating in those sectors.”
Simon Giles, CEO at City Group Security, responded: “Over more than three decades, City Group Security has built its reputation on dependable security services and long-standing customer relationships. Joining OCS marks the next chapter for the business.”
Giles added: “Our organisations share a commitment to service quality and those colleagues who deliver it. Becoming part of OCS affords City Group Security a stronger platform to grow specialist services for customers and, want’s more, create new opportunities for our team.”
Continuity of service
OCS has pointed out that, going forward, security services will continue without interruption. Existing customer contacts, escalation procedures and operational teams remain unchanged, thereby ensuring continuity of service.
The acquisition reflects OCS’ continued investment in its UK security business and supports the wider strategy of building specialist capability that strengthens its integrated facilities management solution for myriad customers.
