ON THURSDAY 13 May, the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) – in partnership with Risk Crew, an IASME-accredited Cyber Essentials certification body – is hosting a webinar for NSI-approved companies designed to discuss the benefits of Cyber Essentials certification in today’s increasingly digitised environment.
The webinar will provide insight on topics such as the importance of cyber security in the security and fire safety sectors, Cyber Essentials versus Cyber Essentials Plus (and which is most appropriate for given businesses), certification benefits and the Top 5 challenges with related advice on how to address them. The online event will finish with an interactive Q&A session.
Richard Jenkins, the NSI’s CEO, will be joined by presenters Emma Philpott (CEO of the IASME Consortium Ltd) and Nick Roberts (director of business development Risk Crew), an information security governance, risk and compliance professional with 15-plus years’ experience in the sector.
The webinar follows hot on the heels of the announcement in February concerning the partnership between the NSI and Risk Crew, which was established to provide a straightforward pathway for NSI-approved companies to gain Cyber Essentials certification.
A Government backed certification scheme that’s independently awarded, Cyber Essentials provides evidence for customers, internal stakeholders, investors, insurers and others that essential cyber security precautions orchestrated to protect a business from common online threats and safeguard customer data held have been implemented.
Richard Jenkins observed: “With SME breaches of cyber security now at an all-time high, it has never been more crucial for organisations to review and address their cyber security weaknesses. When you consider the possible ramifications of cyber attacks on a business, whether this be the subsequent downtime, cost and/or reputational damage, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus Certification offers today’s organisations real insight and guidance in implementing effective cyber security measures.”
