MITIE GROUP plc has attained confirmation that the business is operating in accordance with ISO 31000:2018, the international standard that validates organisations’ guidelines and principles for risk management. This significant achievement reflects Mitie’s holistic approach to risk management.
The validation follows on from an extensive independent evaluation process, which assessed all aspects of risk management practices across the entirety of the Mitie Group. This rigorous evaluation was carried out by the British Standards Institution (BSI), which assessed over 350 pieces of information focused on Mitie’s processes, from internal audits all the way through to risk registers and training records.
The BSI duly confirmed that Mitie Group plc successfully meets the necessary criteria and went on to highlight several areas of Best Practice in the assessment, noting a positive culture of risk awareness, well-defined risk objectives and a commitment to training colleagues on risk management.
This achievement builds on Mitie Group plc’s risk analysis credentials, with the organisation having achieved ISO 22301 in March 2023. The latter is the gold standard in terms of business continuity management, duly reflecting the company’s commitment to disaster preparedness.
As well as boasting exemplary risk management credentials within its own business, Mitie Group plc is also supporting its customers to be as risk prepared as possible. This assertion is highlighted by its acquisition of the Linx International Group in April last year.
Linx International, of course, is a risk management consulting business which provides a range of specialist security, risk management and investigative services to its customers, including security risk assessments and security design in addition to the provision of fraud and commercial malpractice investigations.
