WHAT IS already a hugely popular feature of The Security Event is set to make its Australian debut this year as the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) brings its acclaimed Live Testing Lab to The Security Event Australia (which runs on 25-26 November at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre).
The interactive feature has become a standout attraction at The Security Event here in the UK, offering visitors a rare opportunity to witness certified physical security products being tested in real-time. Following its successful expansion into Asia with a debut appearance at the Singapore edition of the show in November last year, the Live Testing Lab will now be introduced to the Australian market for the first time.
The LPCB Live Testing Lab will provide visitors with a unique opportunity to witness a team of professional forced entry specialists engaging with a diverse range of physical security products. From windows to fencing and door sets, the live demonstrations will showcase the resilience and effectiveness of these products in the face of simulated intrusion scenarios.
Delivered by LPCB, which is part of the global research and certification organisation BRE Group, the demonstrations are designed to highlight the importance of rigorous product testing and third party certification in improving security standards across the built environment.
Valuable demonstrations
Peter Poole, Group director with responsibility for The Security Event Australia at organiser Nineteen Group, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the LPCB Live Testing Lab to Australia for the first time. It has been one of the most engaging and talked-about features at The Security Event in the UK and its debut in Singapore last year proved how valuable these demonstrations are for international audiences.”
Poole added: “Seeing security products put to the test in real-time provides visitors with a powerful and practical understanding of the role that tested and certified solutions play in protecting people, property and critical infrastructure across the built environment.”
Representing the LPCB, Richard Flint of the BRE Group stated: “The Live Testing Lab allows us to demonstrate the realities of forced entry testing and the standards that security products must meet in order to achieve LPCB certification. Recreating realistic attack scenarios allows visitors to see first-hand the difference that properly tested and certified products can make. We’re excited to bring this experience to the Australian security community and showcase the true and meaningful value of independent testing.”
Key sponsor
Doogood Australia will feature as a key sponsor of the LPCB Live Testing Lab, supplying fencing for the Test Arena’s perimeter. The company will be exhibiting at the event, affording visitors the opportunity to explore Doogood’s range of physical security fencing solutions alongside the live demonstrations.
The LPCB Live Testing Lab will run throughout the exhibition, offering multiple live demonstrations each day and giving visitors the chance to see how certified products perform under pressure.
The Security Event Australia is set to bring together leading security manufacturers, integrators, consultants and end users from across the region, creating a platform for innovation, collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Australian security sector.
