Jason Trigg announced as new CEO of National Business Crime Solution

THE NATIONAL Business Crime Solution (NBCS) – the not-for-profit initiative formed back in 2012 that works with the police service and the business community to help tackle business crime in the UK – has announced that Jason Trigg is the organisation’s new CEO with a clear mandate to help build upon the crime data sharing platform’s industry-leading collaboration.

In essence, the NBCS works with retail sector members and law enforcement agencies alike to build prosecution evidence packs against prolific and persistent local and national offenders.

Trigg now takes over the day-to-day running of the organisation with immediate effect.

At the vanguard of founding the NBCS and also a long-term Board member, Trigg has spent the last 18 months pursuing interests outside of the security industry, among them business mentoring and life coaching ventures based upon his many years of high-level commercial experience.

The seasoned entrepreneur, who boasts a career that has seen him head up several successful security and technology businesses, has never lost the desire to re-establish his connection with the NBCS.

“The NBCS is something about which I’ve always been passionate,” urged Trigg. “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to help shape its future direction. Given the way in which crime is impacting the retail industry, I firmly believe that true collaboration is the only way forward.”

Trigg added: “I’m excited and energised by the challenge and the opportunity of working with the NBCS team and all of its stakeholders from associate members all the way through to customers and on again to other industry associations and bodies as well as members of the law enforcement community.”

New understanding

According to Trigg, the level of collaboration is rising as a result of the new understanding of the impact of crime at the business C-Suite level and from a national policing perspective. “This process has been assisted by political engagement and a stronger risk-to-resource response from the security industry itself,” stated Trigg. “True collaboration can go further, though.”

Trigg would like the NBCS to become what it was originally set up to be: a one-stop shop and the conduit of intelligence sharing. “I want the NBCS to be at the forefront of this new era underpinned by fresh thinking such that it’s best positioned to pull-in data from the wider retail security community and organisations including the Business Crime Reduction Partnerships and the Business Improvement Districts that work with them.”

Embellishing this theme, Trigg asserted: “All of the granular data can be seamlessly fed into policing initiatives at the national level to realise meaningful prosecutions or at the local level in relation to neighbourhood policing teams that make a difference to retail crime deterrence and disruption.”

Note of appreciation

Trigg has personally thanked the NBCS Board for its support and particularly Tim Edwards who’ll be retiring from his role as chair.

“From a strategic perspective, Tim has dedicated so many years and given so much of his energy, knowledge and leadership to the organisation and, in recent times, also taken care of day-to-day stewardship at the NBCS.”

In a statement, the NBCS Board commented: “We would like to thank Tim for all that he has done and wish him well for the future. He leaves us in a very strong position and in very capable hands as we announce that Jason Trigg returns to lead the organisation going forward. Tim will remain in situ for a short while to ensure the efficient transition of the business.”
