IN THE face of ever-changing threats to global security, International Security Expo – the annual event organised by the Nineteen Group and for which Security Matters is once again serving as Lead Media Partner – is returning to London’s Olympia from 27-28 September to celebrate its 20th Anniversary.
The market-leading security event is renowned for providing the critical link between Government, industry, academia and the entire end user community, enabling security professionals from the UK and, indeed, around the globe to strengthen their relationships and ensure that their companies are adequately prepared to take on current and future challenges.
International security buyers, specifiers and decision-makers will reunite in London to learn, network and source the next generation of security solutions. With registration now open, senior security buyers and decision-makers from leading organisations including KPMG, Gatwick Airport, IBM, BAE Systems, the Bank of England, British Airways, the Ministry of Defence, the United States Senate, BMW, AstraZeneca, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase & Co and Transport for London have already registered to attend, joining thousands of vetted international visitors looking to source the latest security products and solutions for Government, Critical National Infrastructure projects, major events, the law enforcement arena and more.
They will join more than 350 international companies in attendance who’ll be shining the spotlight on their latest innovative products and solutions. Those companies include Audax Global Solutions, APSTEC Systems, Astrophysics, Gallagher Security, the HS Security Group, Leidos, LINEV Systems UK Ltd, LiveLink Aerospace, Mitie, Nuctech, Pitagone, Rapiscan Systems, Rohde & Schwarz, Smiths Detection, Vaylia and Varex.
Hotbed of innovation
Demonstrating the latest iteration of products and solutions available on the security market, Audax Global Solutions returns for its 13th year at International Security Expo. The company, which has supplied its systems to UK and international police forces, NHS hospitals, UK Councils for Parking and civil environment bodies, etc will showcase body-worn video solutions.
In parallel, fellow exhibitor Gallagher Security will demonstrate its CAPSS-certified and Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure-approved access control, perimeter security and intruder detection solutions listed across all three sections of the Catalogue for Security Equipment. These solutions include Command Centre, the company’s award-winning site management software, and also its Government-approved controller, readers and electronic perimeter intrusion detection system.
Smiths Detection will demonstrate how it’s advancing the new era of digitised, data-driven security amid ever-changing industry trends across a range of sectors. For example, in aviation, adjusting to post-pandemic life has seen airports needing to deploy technologies to overcome staff operator shortages, assist the manual operator burden by removing guesswork and create a more seamless flow of passengers through security, bags through checkpoints and air cargo goods on to planes. By using the power of Artificial Intelligence for automatic detection, remote screening, counter-terrorism technology and open architecture, airports can reduce the need for manual processes, enhance operational efficiency and, above all else, improve security.
At the International Security Expo, Smiths Detection will showcase how the business can help a range of sectors – from aviation to ports and borders – address these challenges and safeguard both people and environments.
Solutions to challenges
With product categories ranging from screening and scanning, CCTV and surveillance, perimeter protection through to Hostile Vehicle Mitigation, intruder detection and monitoring as well as access control and biometrics, attendees at the International Security Expo are guaranteed to find the solutions they need to address their challenges, as well as being inspired by a hotbed of product launches revealed live at the show.
Take Gotcha (ApricoTech), for example. This exhibitor will showcase its computer vision-based technology that detects micro-emotions through the analysis of human facial behaviour.
T3K.AI will demonstrate its Law Enforcement Analysis Platform (LEAP), which supports investigators and forensic analysts by quickly analysing data from smart phones and other sources, pinpointing relevant information and helping to focus investigations. LEAP provides an instant and easy-to-understand overview of risk potentials, in turn helping to prioritise cases.
Specialist zones at the show will provide a deep-dive into specific sector challenges. Highlighting its long history of Government support for the event, the specialist Government Zone will return to host the likes of the Joint Security and Resilience Centre, Counter-Terrorism Policing, the British Transport Police, National Counter-Terrorism Security Office, UK Defence and Security Exports, Border Force and the Defence and Security Accelerator.
In addition, there’s the Perimeter Protection Zone being run in association with the Loss Prevention Certification Board and supported by the Perimeter Security Suppliers Association, the International Risk and Resilience Zone and the Drone and Counter-UAV Zone. The latter, which is running in association with the ADS Drone Platform and Counter-Drone Group, will welcome specialist companies ready to tackle every security threat.
Exclusive insights
Pulling in the crowds, the International Security Expo’s free-of-charge and Continuing Professional Development-certified educational programme will once again deliver the latest insights, analysis and invaluable perspectives from world-leading security, law enforcement and risk and resilience experts who will come together to discuss mitigation strategies, Best Practice security techniques and high-level policy.
Three dedicated theatres – namely the Global Counter-Terror and Serious and Organised Crime Summit, the International Security Conference and the International Risk and Resilience Conference – will see world-renowned speakers and acclaimed global security leaders discuss the latest security topics, threats and challenges.
A carefully curated Advisory Council made up of the most credible Government, industry and leading academic stakeholders once again ensures that this year’s edition of the International Security Expo accurately reflects the security industry and covers the full spectrum of security trends. An impressive 65 industry experts sit on the Advisory Council, including new members Anna-Liisa Tampuu (co-chair of the Inclusive Security Special Interest Group at The Security Institute), Satia Rai (director of equality, diversity and inclusion at the International Professional Security Association), Letitia Emeana (head of security at Unilever and chair of ASIS International’s UK Chapter) and Beena Chester (director of business engagement at Resilience First).
