FGH Security recognised in prestigious 2026 High Growth 50

FGH SECURITY – the business founded in 2003 to deliver bespoke security guarding, stewarding and crowd management services across numerous sectors – has been recognised as one of the North of England’s most ambitious businesses in the 2026 edition of the High Growth 50.

Produced by MC2 and powered by Growth Flag data, the High Growth 50 recognises Northern headquartered businesses that have demonstrated strong recent growth and, what’s more, the financial foundations to sustain such development.

The report features companies with an annual turnover of between £10 million and £300 million. Those companies involved must have increased turnover by at least 20% over the past three years and are tasked with demonstrating positive financial health.

Across this year’s cohort, median turnover increased by 115% over the past three years, compared with 105% for the 2025 cohort. Median headcount growth was 47%, while turnover per employee is reported to be 52% higher than in the 2025 cohort.

The findings point towards a shift in terms of how Northern businesses are scaling, with technology, automation and Artificial Intelligence helping companies to improve their productivity and expand without relying solely on workforce growth.

Building operations

Jonny Saatchi, managing director of MC2, said: “Growth across the North isn’t slowing down, but it most certainly is changing. The businesses in this year’s High Growth 50 are becoming more productive, using technology more intelligently and building increasingly international operations.”

John Bolton, head of finance at FGH Security, observed: “Strong and sustainable financial growth, underpinned by sound financial discipline, is central to the FGH Security journey. It’s great to see that recognised.”

The recognition follows on from continued growth across FGH Security as an organisation, including expansion into new markets and the development of long-standing customer relationships across events, hospitality, retail, sporting venues and security guarding.

Growth has also supported the development of the wider FGH Group, which now includes FGH Training, FGH Consult and FGH Systems, providing specialist capability across professional training, security and crowd management consultancy in addition to security technology.

London Stock Exchange gathering

The 2026 High Growth 50 cohort was celebrated at the London Stock Exchange, marking a particularly personal milestone for FGH Security’s founder and managing director Peter Harrison.

“I visited the London Stock Exchange during my A-Level economics studies 25 years ago,” said Harrison, “and it’s always fascinated me. Being able to close the markets for the day was a dream come true. A big ‘Thank You’ to all of our hard-working team members. This award is for revenue growth, but that’s only possible if our people are exceptional at what they do, day in and day out.”

From a business started by Harrison while he was studying at Lancaster University to recognition among the North’s leading high-growth companies, FGH Security has developed significantly over the past two decades.

The focus for the future remains the same: sustainable growth, continued investment in all staff members and delivering on the company’s purpose of ‘Keeping People Safe’.

Ranked in the Top 1% of Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme-accredited businesses, FGH Security works with leading organisations including adidas, Alstom, JD Group, the Glastonbury Festival and Liverpool Football Club.

Operating nationwide from offices in Lancaster, Manchester, London and Liverpool, FGH Security has also been named one of The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work in the UK for four consecutive years.
