CORPS SECURITY has welcomed Deborah Rabey to the company’s Board in the role of non-executive director, strengthening the organisation’s leadership as it continues to build on its position as one of the UK’s leading security services companies and a committed social enterprise.
Rabey brings more than 30 years’ worth of experience across the retail, wholesale and consumer sectors to the role having forged a proven track record in helping organisations to navigate growth and transformation in low margin sectors. Her appointment further strengthens the Board as Corps Security continues to deliver commercial success alongside its long-standing commitment to supporting military veterans and wider social value.
At present, Rabey serves as London Sector director for retail and wholesale at Acentis, where she works with organisations seeking senior leadership expertise to support growth and transformation. Rabey also serves as a non-executive director at Smiths News plc and has held senior leadership roles at businesses including Tesco and Wilko.
Unique combination
Commenting on her appointment, Rabey said: “I’m delighted to have joined Corps Security and to be part of an organisation with such a unique combination of heritage, purpose and ambition. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with organisations navigating growth and change. What stands out to me about Corps Security is the company’s ability to remain true to its values, while continuing to evolve and succeed.”
Rabey added: “As a social enterprise, the organisation creates social value that extends far beyond its services. I now look forward to supporting the next stage of the company’s development.”
Wealth of experience
Fiona Strens, chair of Corps Security, responded: “We’re delighted to welcome Deborah to the Board. She brings a wealth of leadership experience as well as a strong track record of helping similar organisations to grow and deliver long-term value. Her insight complements that of other Board members and will be particularly valuable as we lead the organisation through a period of significant market change. We look forward to working together.”
Founded back in 1859, Corps Security is the UK’s only major security-focused social enterprise and has been providing trusted security services for more than 165 years. Rabey’s appointment reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to strong leadership, customer focus, operational excellence and profitable growth.
