MILESTONE SYSTEMS, itself one of the world’s leading businesses when it comes to the development of data-driven video surveillance technology, has joined the European Tech Alliance.
As an organisation, the European Tech Alliance represents leading European tech companies that provide innovative products and services to no fewer than 500 million end users. Its 31 member companies from 16 European countries have earned the trust of their consumers and most certainly view the European Union as a crucial market.
One of the key goals for the European Tech Alliance’s member companies is to assist in strengthening Europe’s resilience and technological autonomy, protect and empower users online and promote Europe’s values of transparency, the rule of law and innovation to the rest of the world.
What’s more, the European Tech Alliance wants to see Europe’s tech competitiveness boosted by an ambitious tech strategy within the European Union that will overcome obstacles to growth. There’s a strong political commitment to clear, targeted and risk-based rules and enforcing those rules consistently in order to match the globalised market in which member companies presently operate.
Upcoming months “critical”
“We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to Milestone Systems as the newest member of the European Tech Alliance,” commented Victoria de Posson, secretary general of the European Tech Alliance.
“Ahead of the Danish presidency of the European Union in 2025,” continued de Posson, “we look forward to working more closely with Nordic European tech companies. The upcoming months will be critical when it comes to unleashing the full potential of Europe’s tech businesses and establish leadership positions both domestically and globally.”
In response, Milestone Systems’ CEO Thomas Jensen (pictured) noted: “Milestone Systems is looking forward to all of the important work that’s going to be transacted by the European Tech Alliance, which is the only association exclusively representing tech companies born and bred in Europe. That aligns well with our own identity and key focus areas.”
Jensen added: “Building responsible and data-driven video technology, including Artificial Intelligence-based analytics, enables innovation across a variety of sectors and creates new opportunities. However, it’s crucial that we do this responsibly by respecting privacy and protecting data. This is precisely why Milestone urges the development of robust, workable and clear guidelines and regulations designed to manage potential risks, increase public trust and afford innovators clarity as they drive forward video-enabled solutions.”
Business efficiency
Founded in 1998 and a standalone entity within the Canon Group, Milestone Systems focuses on ensuring the safety of its client companies by protecting their assets and increasing business efficiency. The company enables an open platform community that drives collaboration and innovation in the development and use of network video technology.
