Churchill Group retains dual service contract with University of Suffolk

FOLLOWING ON from a competitive tendering process, Churchill Group (the second largest employee-owned Trust in the UK and whose clients include British Land, the Institute of Directors, Eurostar and Canary Wharf Management) has extended its dual security and cleaning contract with the University of Suffolk for a period of five years, with the option of another one or two years to be added in time.

Churchill has provided cleaning services since 2011, while its Amulet business division has realised dedicated security solutions from 2019 onwards.

Both services will be delivered under the Churchill Group umbrella, with the Group’s multiple soft service specialisms emerging as a key reason as to why the contract retention bid was successful.

More than 60 security officers and cleaning operatives working across four main campuses at the University of Suffolk will deliver CCTV monitoring and patrolling to safeguard and protect the students and assets on site as well as window cleaning, washroom services and pest control services.

Amulet won the security contract five years ago, at least in part because the University of Suffolk’s management team was so impressed with the cleaning partnership. This contract extension is testament to the ongoing success of the partnership. A proven delivery model, an innovative approach and flexibility were also cited as key reasons for the Churchill Group’s contract win.

Shared values

Darren Read, chief operating officer at the Churchill Group, explained: “We’re delighted to extend this partnership with an organisation that shares so many of our values. The years of trust we’ve built along with the length of the new contract make it a fantastic opportunity for continued investment and innovation. The University of Suffolk’s management team has always been open to new ideas and we’re looking forward to helping the organisation deliver exceptional experiences for its members of staff and students.”

Nigel Lucker, director of estates at the University of Suffolk, responded: “After a full tender period, we’re delighted to continue our working rlationship with Churchill Group as our security, cleaning and soft services FM partner. We maintain exceptional spaces and create a more sustainable future through working with our partners and Churchill Group has shown that it shares our vision and values in support of our overall aims.”
