IN PARTNERSHIP with Genetec and Milestone Systems, network video specialist Axis Communications has signposted OPEN, a new event concept for the sector specifically designed to showcase how technology is driving innovation in security, safety and operational efficiency.
Importantly, the “ambitious and engaging” series of OPEN events will provide a platform for delegates to learn about the pressing issues of sustainability and cyber security.
The new OPEN events series is scheduled to begin in Q4 2023, with the target audience being systems integrators, distributors and consultants as well as end customers. The overriding aim is to open up new opportunities for visitors, facilitate connections with wider industry leaders in networking events and discover more about the challenges and opportunities arising from the key trends – both present and emerging – in the security industry.
The first six locations and dates for 2023 in both UK and Europe have been confirmed and upwards of 2,000 attendees are expected. Speakers from Axis Communications, its partner organisations and also external experts will focus their attentions on issues around evolving technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and the cloud. The broader topics of cyber security, sustainability and digital transformation will also occupy centre stage.
Confirmed dates for 2023 are as follows:
*Madrid: 3 October
*Paris: 17 October
*London: 31 October
*Tel Aviv: 2 November
*Oslo: 7 November
*Helsinki: 21 November
Further city locations and dates for the EMEA region covering the early part of 2024 are to be announced in due course.
Exciting change
Linn Storäng, regional director for Northern Europe at Axis Communications, commented: “Technology and digital transformation is driving so much exciting change across so many industries. It’s important that we take stock of the opportunities arising from that, while also being mindful of the broader business issues of cyber security regulation and sustainability agendas.”
Storäng added: “The intention of the OPEN events is to enable peers to connect with each other and experts in the field, discover the latest trends that will impact them and ways in which to collaborate. Ultimately, we want to unlock the various challenges in order to realise new business opportunities.”
The OPEN events will be structured around three working areas including OPEN Mind for inspiring plenary sessions, panel debates and breakout workshops; OPEN Learn (a tech bar to start conversations and answer questions in an intimate and friendly space) and OPEN Zone to enable the easy delivery of presentations and product demonstrations within partner pods.
Above all, the focus will be on education, collaboration and networking.
Partner-driven company
Jos Beernink, vice-president for the EMEA region at Milestone Systems, commented: “Milestone Systems is a partner-driven company so joining forces with a trusted and valued technology partner such as Axis Communications fits perfectly with our go-to-market strategy.”
Beernink continued: “Being open is what Milestone is all about and our open platform forms the basis of everything we do. Our open mindset and our 100% commitment and loyalty to our partner ecosystem is in our DNA. By partnering with Axis Communications, we can adapt to evolving needs and provide our customers with the limitless potential of our open platform innovations.”
In conclusion, Beernink noted: “Participating in Axis Communications’ series of OPEN events will provide an opportunity for us to showcase – and for customers to experience – the almost endless opportunities video technology now offers for seamless security solutions.”
Georges Tannous, senior director for business development at Genetec, observed: “The Axis Communications and Genetec partnership is founded on more than 25 years of mutual collaboration and trust. It’s a relationship driven by our shared focus on digital transformation, innovation and cyber security. We’re proud to be part of the OPEN series, where we’ll be sharing the latest results of our deep alignment on product development with our partners, the channel and end users. Our recently announced Axis Powered by Genetec access control offering is just the beginning.”
Axis Communications, Genetec and Milestone will be joined at the OPEN events by event partners and sponsors, with all those involved combining to deliver a “unique and insightful experience” for attendees.
