As a key part of the launch, the business has recruited a senior executive team led by managing director Gary Stanton and sales director Nick Clegg. Stanton is the former commercial director at the Axis Group, while Clegg previously worked for Corps Security in the role of corporate account director.

Stanton and Clegg are joined by operations director Lee Humphries, who has extensive senior operations experience gained across an array of sectors including the corporate, aviation and healthcare arenas.

Chris Wisely, Group managing director for AtlasFM, informed Security Matters: “The leadership team brings refreshing experience and dynamism to the market. Gary, Nick and Lee have worked across every part of the security guarding spectrum, from front line delivery right through to sales. They know what it means to be a security officer and, on that basis, they know what our customers and our people expect.”

Wisely believes such ‘hands-on’ experience really matters. “They have not been parachuted in from a different industry or given responsibility for something they know little about,” affirmed Wisely. “They know what works and hey know what doesn’t work. They’re determined to radically redefine the security guarding experience for customers and officers alike. They’re looking to build a team and create partnerships with like-minded individuals who can respectfully question the norm and find a better way in which to deliver a service that they – and AtlasFM in general – will all be proud of.”

Making a difference

Gary Stanton is looking forward to making a difference with this new venture. “I’m delighted to have the opportunity of working with fellow professionals and a supportive parent group,” he explained. “Atlas has an ambition centred around the theme of creating happiness – not in some loose, intangible sense, but in a way that can be measured – and this will also be central to Atlas Security because creating happiness for all of our people, our customers and anyone who’s touched by the services we deliver means a better experience.”

Although the team is young, Stanton believes that youth gives them an advantage. “It means we don’t have to do something ‘just because it’s always been this way’. We believe there’s a real space in the current market. It’s a perfect opportunity for our entrepreneurial style and purpose-driven approach.”

Stanton continued: “We have a team and the appetite to create something truly special. We want to make a real difference to the people who trust us with their own careers, or customers who trust us with their security needs. That’s what we will be committed to doing every single day.”

Atlas Security will immediately hit the ground running, assuming responsibility for a portfolio of contracts previously serviced by AtlasFM. As such, the leadership team has already been visiting clients and meeting many officers operating across different locations.

Positive feedback

“We’ve enjoyed introducing ourselves and receiving so much positive feedback about the officers across our existing customer portfolio,” noted Stanton. “We have inherited a team of loyal and dedicated officers, but we know that there will always be more that we can do to support them. Step-by-step, and by working together, we will ensure that Atlas Security is a great company to work with and for.”

AtlasFM is one of the fastest-growing privately owned support services businesses in the UK offering facilities management services to clients across the nation. The company started operating back in 1986. Today, it works with 2,200 clients and employs more than 8,000 people.
