Andy Robbins named director of security, risk and resilience at OCS

SECURITY SOLUTIONS provider OCS UK and Ireland has promoted Andy Robbins to the role of director of security, risk and resilience. In this key leadership position, Robbins will shape and direct OCS’ strategic approach to security, thereby ensuring robust protection and resilience for colleagues, customers and communities alike.

With over a decade of experience at OCS and a distinguished 38-year career in the security sector, Robbins brings an exceptional depth of knowledge to the fore. His journey began in the police service, where he rose from the rank of constable to become a detective chief inspector and senior investigating officer.

Across time, Robbins has managed complex security operations within the public and private sectors, excelling in risk mitigation, threat assessments and crisis management. He has led security strategies for high-profile sites and events, working closely with Government bodies and law enforcement agencies. This has earned Robins great recognition as a trusted authority in security.

Now, Robbins will be instrumental in guiding OCS’ response to emerging security threats. He will ensure the business remains at the forefront of security innovation and fully aligned with regulatory changes, such as Martyn’s Law, which will set new security standards for publicly accessible locations. Indeed, Robbins’ leadership will be vital in maintaining the highest levels of compliance and operational excellence, while in parallel influencing industry-wide policy and Best Practice.

Advanced technology adoption

A core focus of Robbins’ role will be collaboration with OCS’ technology and security operations teams, driving the adoption of advanced technological solutions to enhance security frameworks. With technology increasingly critical to adequate security, Robbins’ expertise in integrating physical and digital strategies will be vital to the continued success of OCS’s operations.

Robbins’ remit spans OCS’ Security, Private Sector and Public Sector Facilities Management divisions, where he will provide strategic direction and proactive risk management. His role goes beyond day-to-day operations, with a particularly strong focus on emphasising, anticipating and mitigating risks before they have a chance to materialise. Robbins’ crisis management expertise will bolster OCS’ assurance for colleagues, customers and the broader community, notably so during critical incidents.

OCS is confident that Robbins’ leadership and vast experience will significantly strengthen its security capabilities, positioning the company as a leading authority in the sector.

I look forward to building on the work we’ve transacted to date. We will continue to deliver the highest standards of safety, resilience and cutting-edge security solutions, providing OCS’ customers with a centre of excellence in security.”
