THE CENTRE for Finance and Security at defence and security-focused Think Tank the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and Canada-based consultancy ManchesterCF Financial Intelligence have announced a new strategic partnership with two key initiatives at its core.
ManchesterCF develops financial intelligence training programmes with a global perspective. The company’s training focuses on developing practical knowledge from Case Studies, regulatory reports and developments in international financial markets.
In view of the new partnership, the Centre for Finance and Security will now work with ManchesterCF in order to develop a new module for ManchesterCF’s Financial Intelligence Unit Connect Programme, thereby addressing the financing of foreign influence within the international financial system. The Financial Intelligence Unit’s online financial intelligence training is already used by banks and Governments around the world.
ManchesterCF’s specialist financial training will also be integrated into the Centre for Finance and Security’s global capacity-building programme, duly covering topics such as sanctions, proliferation financing and crypto-assets.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening knowledge and capabilities designed to address financial crime and security challenges.
Perfect fit
Tom Keatinge, founding director of RUSI’s Centre for Finance and Security, explained: “We are constantly looking for new ways in which to ensure that our capacity-building programmes live on beyond our in-country visits. This new partnership with ManchesterCF to provide greater access to its training courses and collaborate on new material is a perfect fit.”
Kim Manchester, the founder of ManchesterCF Financial Intelligence, responded: “The reputation of the Centre for Finance and Security in the financial services industry is second to none. To be mentioned in the same sentence as that operation is both an honour and a privilege. Collaboration with the Centre for Finance and Security deepens the trust we’ve established with our clients around the world.”
