Summary

We’re looking for a Fire Risk Assessor to join us covering the London & South East and East of England Region. Internally this role is known as: Operational Risk Assessor – Fire.

You'll work mostly within your home London and South East and East of England Re-gion and be responsible for carrying out property-based fire risk assessments. You will hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel. This will involve overnight stays as and when required. Your contractual location will be one of our regional hubs.

As this role covers the London and South East region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy office to your home. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.

What you will be doing

You’ll undertake a variety of fire risk assessments on National Trust complex historic houses and larger National Trust holiday accommodation plus other building types where required.

You’ll be taking existing fire risk assessments and reviewing them against established National Trust policy to produce a revised assessment which identifies specific mitigations.

Professional Indemnity Insurance is provided for employees undertaking this role in connection with National Trust business during the course of their employment.


Who we are looking for

  • Relevant qualification in fire safety & fire risk assessment e.g. Fire Protection Association, NEBOSH, Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers
  • Fire risk management and fire risk assessment expertise
  • Recognised listing on a national recognised register for fire risk assessors or have suitable comparable practical experience of fire risk assessing
  • Working knowledge of current fire safety legislation, building regulations and technical standards
  • Knowledge of working within the Heritage environment
  • Knowledge of working within a sleeping risk environment

Interviews will be held at Heelis on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th November.
