Insights: The SmartTask Blog for Security Matters

Data is now said to be the lifeblood of the business community. As well as helping security companies to run more smoothly at an operational level on a day-to-day basis, the data generated while providing services to customers is a highly valuable asset.

Activities such as designing rosters and shifts for security officers, calculating hours worked by officers and where and when they’ve operated, cataloguing assignment instructions and details of alarm responses, complying with industry requirements (such as Security Industry Authority audits and keyholding regulations) and generating customer invoices and monthly service reports create a lot of data that’s unique to the business. Importantly, that data can deliver information to support the business on a strategic level.

Fast access to data in context is what provides actionable intelligence to help businesses run more efficiently and profitably. When used effectively, the right technology can provide a real-world return on investment.

Insights suite 

With all of this in mind, SmartTask has announced the launch of its new SmartTask Insights suite. The first phase is Insights Data. This new module enables customers to manage data extracts for use with external business intelligence tools.

Insights Data schedules a range of pre-defined data extracts which can be accessed via different methods, underpinned by built-in security protocols, to improve visibility of the customer’s business. The data extracts can be delivered via e-mail or made available to dashboards and data analysis tools, presenting the data in a more engaging and digestible manner and, therefore, enabling staff to see high level trends and then drill down into the detail to identify actionable business intelligence.

Insights Data can also be used to build custom reusable data extracts in a fraction of the time it takes to build additional reports, reducing costs and speeding up the process of meeting a diverse range of requirements.   

In the near future, the SmartTask Insights suite will be extended to support Insights Dashboard and Data Analytics, which will include some pre-built standard dashboards based on industry feedback of what companies typically like to know about their business.

Flexible approach

SmartTask Insights adopts a flexible approach that enables every size of organisation to discover details within its corporate data that it can then act upon in order to improve service to customers, enhance the employee experience, meet Service Level Agreements, prove compliance with industry regulations and, ultimately, increase profitability.

Smaller organisations will benefit from the out-of-the-box data extracts and dashboards that will be delivered as standard with SmartTask Insights, while larger companies may prefer to use their own dashboarding and data analytics tools to configure the system in order to meet their own unique requirements.
