Hanwha Vision introduces compact three-channel AI IR PTZ camera

SURVEILLANCE SOLUTIONS developer Hanwha Vision has launched a compact multi-directional camera that combines an 18x Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered PTZ module with three 5 MP fixed lenses. The model, designated PNM-C19183RVTP, is designed to deliver seamless wide-area coverage, high-resolution zoom capabilities and AI-powered insights.

Ideal for monitoring open and complex spaces such as parking areas, intersections and stadiums, the solution replaces traditional multi-camera set-ups with a streamlined design. Its enhanced mount design and compact housing make installation both simple and efficient.

At its core, the camera leverages AI to accurately detect and classify objects in real-time, distinguishing people, vehicles, faces and licence plates from ‘irrelevant motion’ (such as moving shadows or trees). This reduces false alarms and improves surveillance reliability by allowing system operators to focus only on activities and events that require their attention.

Forensic metadata, including object classification (such as person or vehicle), enables fast and accurate forensic search. Colour detection including clothing (upper/lower) or vehicle colour on the three fixed lens channels further enhances search capabilities. Intelligent video analytics, such as virtual line-crossing and loitering detection, help to proactively monitor restricted zones, while smart zoom (advanced handover) and auto-tracking enable the PTZ to zoom-in on objects identified by the fixed lenses.

Three independently controlled IR zones (up to 15 metres) allow for visibility in low-light conditions, while minimising reflections. WiseStreamIII compression technology reduces bandwidth consumption by up to 80% without compromising video quality, and AI-based shutter control minimises motion blur for fast-moving objects. Further, installation is simplified with a detachable mounting plate, push-button set-up and automatic PTZ calibration.

Indoor applications

The solution is also suitable for indoor installations, even in areas with limited ceiling height. The new Hanwha Vision in-ceiling mount accessory, SHD-2501FPW, delivers a sleek and low-profile look. For sensitive areas where a discreet camera presence is required, the SPB-MDC41V smoked dome cover is an ideal option.

Built for demanding environments, the PNM-C19183RVTP features IP66-rated weather protection, IK10-rated impact resistance and a metal-shielded RJ-45 port to help protect against electrical surges. The camera is also FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified, offering robust cyber security measures including secure boot, firmware encryption and certificate-based device authentication.

Key features of the PNM-C19183RVTP are as follows:

*three 5 MP fixed lenses with 2.4 mm focal length
