Mitie remains on track thanks to Eurostar security contract extension

The contract renewal will see Mitie provide security services at St Pancras International Station in London, as well as for the Eurostar Engineering Centre located in Temple Mills. There’s an option in place to extend the contract for an additional two-year term.

Mitie, which has provided contracted services to Eurostar for over 14 years now, was awarded the renewal following a competitive retender process.

In practice, Mitie will continue to provide a wide range of security and customer services-related solutions for Eurostar, among them passenger security screening, train searches, the hosting of e-gates, CCTV monitoring at the Temple Mills site and overseeing access to restricted zones across both sites.

As a direct result of the contract renewal, Mitie will be bringing its technology and intelligence capabilities to Eurostar. This includes dedicated transport sector security analysis and updates via the company’s Intelligence Security Operations Centre based in Northampton.

With more than half of colleagues having worked on the contract across time, Mitie’s skilled security officers are experienced in supporting the smooth running of Eurostar’s services, creating a positive and safe experience for the millions of passengers who travel on these trains each year.
