About the Client:

• Our client, specialists in the Fire and Security industry, are seeking a hardworking and passionate Trainee Passive Fire Technician based around the Kent area to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role:

• Fitting and repairing fire doors, smoke seals and door hardware.
• Fire proofing rooms (compartmentation).
• Fire stopping where pipes, cables and other services penetrate walls.
• Fire protection to walls and floors.
• Fitting fire-resistant glazing.
• Testing, servicing, and carrying out repairs to Dry Riser equipment (this includes operating a high-pressure petrol driven water pump).
• Commissioning and servicing the many types of Fire Extinguishers.
• Testing Fire Hydrants.
• Fitting fire safety signage and fire cabinets.
• Assisting with installations, servicing, and repairs to active fire protection systems.

Qualities Required:

• Have practical experience (good DIY skills) in building maintenance and repair.
• Be skilled in the safe use of handheld and power tools.
• Be able to meet a challenge.
• Have good communication skills
• Be able to work under own initiative and within a team.
• Hold a full driver’s license and willing to travel.
