[Expired] Senior Technician - Mechanical Testing

We are working with a global organisation with world class facilities based in Hertfordshire. Due to an increasing volume of work, we have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join the Mechanical Testing Cables Laboratory. This is a new role in a new area for the company, focused on setting up a mechanical testing lab based on significant commercial demand, so prior experience in this field, specifically in cables or pipe systems is essential.

The role will require: 

Previous knowledge and experience of mechanical testing principles (specifically cables or pipe systems) and cables testing methods to assess performance against British specifications, national and international standards.An understanding of laboratory practices, with knowledge of lab procedures and ways of working.Previous experience of setting up a mechanical test laboratory would be valuable. e.g. ability to purchase test equipment, accessories, installation and commissioning of test equipment, etc.Ability to maintain test equipment, calibrations and quality records.Able to assist with maintenance and monitoring of our safety and environmental protection systems.Working to standards, directives and UKAS accreditation procedures. Detailed, accurate and diligent when preparing recording and writing test reports.Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver client work.Excellent customer relationship skills and ability to collaborate and build good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Proficiency in MS Office packages.Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to the electrical/construction sector.The role can be physically demanding at times.In return, you can expect a competitive salary with some excellent benefits and world class facilities to work with.
