Description:

We are working with a renowned and respected global provider of security testing, research and standards that help to protect people and property from crime and terrorism. It is also responsible for issuing security product certification under their internationally recognised brand, ensuring end users and other stakeholders can rely on those products to deliver the required protection against crime and terrorism. They are going through a period of growth and to support this growth they are now looking to add to their certification team.


The value this role will add:


·        Delivering security product testing, evaluation and certification projects to a range of national and international standards, as well as company standards and client’s own specifications.

·        Supporting the delivery of bespoke research projects and preparing guidance that draws on the results of that and associated research.

·        Preparing proposals, test schedules and detailed technical reports.

·        Using your engineering knowledge and experience to evaluate the effect of design changes on a product’s performance and producing technical assessment reports.  

·        Conducting peer reviews of proposals, reports, certificates and listings.

·        Representing the company on national and international standards committees and working groups.

·        Assisting with the development of the company’s security business and promoting its services, including attending exhibitions, conferences and other events.

·        Engaging with specifiers, end users and other stakeholders.

·        Providing training and mentoring to other members of the security team and wider business, as well as external stakeholders.


What do I need in order to deliver this role?


·        Qualification in a relevant engineering or science discipline, ideally at degree level. Candidates possessing alternative qualifications who are able to demonstrate exceptional knowledge, skills and experience will also be considered.

·        Experience of testing, certification and accreditation, preferably in the security or construction sectors.

·        Able to read and interpret technical drawings.

·        Understand quality management systems, preferably with experience of operating within environments complying with either ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO17025 or ISO17065.

·        Excellent project management, numerical, analytical and communication skills.

·        Proficient IT skills, including the use of Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office packages.

·        Pro-active and agile.

·        Clean driving licence.

·        Willing to undergo security vetting.


Great to also have: (desirable)


·        Understanding of the factors that influence the specification and use of security equipment.

·        Experience of conducting quality system audits.
