Course structure

This course will be delivered online and will take place from 14:00 to 19:00. There will be opportunities for in-depth discussion and interaction with speakers.

What you will learn

You will learn key theories in Counter Terrorism and Protective Security referenced from international reference sources. The course will provide a current synopsis of international terrorist threats to events, attack methodologies and insight into how threat actors conduct their planning.

Through this knowledge delegates will progress to gain an awareness of Protective Security Management (PSem) and a concept of operations for developing plans. The course will also introduce legislative requirements including the forthcoming UK Protect Duty, considering how these requirements should be translated into protective security operational delivery.

Course Description

Counterterrorism & Protective Security awareness is critical for achieving safety, security and service at events, within crowded spaces and publicly accessible locations. The process of conducting threat assessments, operational requirements and proportionate & scalable plans is critical in achieving effective security overlay to manage, mitigate and minimise risks. This short course will explore key theories, protective security guidance and support event managers in developing security operations integration.
